About

Madison Cooley (AKA featheredbrushstroke) graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2023 where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts. Raised in Memphis TN, she found herself at the zoo nearly every weekend. Madison has an obsession with animals that is apparent within her work. Her practice revolves around depicting the natural world.

To aid her practice, she volunteered at the Chicago Field Museum, preparing and cleaning bird specimens for the archives. She has interned at the Brooks Museum of Art, where she shadowed the museum’s director, and previously managed Hidden Light Tattoo. Currently, she is a freelance artist taking client-based commissions, showing her work in galleries nationally, and working with small production companies.
