CAM 2011 Theme: Artful Networks
The 2011 theme, Artful Networks, explores the communities that nurture and inspire Chicago artists and their work. The people with whom artists choose to work can be supportive in encouraging creative growth, experimentation, dialogue among peers, and community building. Ranging from traditional residency programs to collaboratives to informal relationships, our communities impact the way we create, support, and appreciate art. RAWednesday presents “Artrepreneurship”
Rethinking the Traditional Creative Business Model
Joshua Ginsberg, Owner and Founder of Chicago Art Leasing LLC, will share his experiences, thoughts and address questions on applying skills and knowledge from the corporate world in building a sustainable art business.
Topics covered will include an overview of different art business models, sales, marketing andmethods of integrating technology (from point-of-sale devices such as Square to QR Codes and social media).
In his own words . . . . “Most artists are by nature entrepreneurial, and as such they can benefit from occasionally reexamining some of the axioms they’ve built their business on.”

About RAWednesdays
RAWednesdays are open to the public to develop a network for artists and businesses located in the Ravenswood Corridor. Our goal is to bring people together to foster dialogs, exchange information, and to create a greater sense of community. Most importantly, the goal is to inform the general public of the unique diversity of the arts and industry that exists in Ravenswood.
There is no charge to attend RAWednesdays, however, a $5 donation is very much appreciated to help defray our program and refreshment expenses.
If you would like to become involved in planning and/or hosting RAWednesdays during 2012, please contact Bill Moran at moranstudios@hotmail.com.
